Rye Baguette

We are trying to eat healthier here at home, so when we were having bread as part of dinner yesterday, I baked a rye baguette, or rather 3 pieces as it turned out to be. . They tasted really great, but the texture was not a real baguette, more like a loaf of bread – a good bread through.

ingredients:

1/2 cup of  olive oil

4 dl. of milk

1 dl. of yogurt

25 g of yeast

2 tsp. of salt

2 tsp. of sugar

350 g of whole grain emmer and spelt flour

350 g  of wheat flour

1 dl. seed and grain mix

2 dl. sunflower seeds

 

Method;

Turn oven to 200 degrees C

Mix yeast with oil, milk and yogurt, sugar and salt.

Then add seeds and grain mixture.

Stir in the flour, a little at a time.

The it rise for at least a half hour in a warm area and then shape it into 3 baguettes. I twisted them a bit to get a slightly different form. Finally let them rise for another 40 minutes.

Bake the baguettes for about. 20 minutes or until light golden.
