Cheddar & Bacon Popcorn

I found these popcorn a few months ago when I was browsing the isles of ‘Mad & Vin’- a supermarket in Magasin Copenhagen. It’s a high end supermarket and I love to go there every now and then. The price is of course also a bit ‘high end’ so it’s not a place I go grocery shopping, but rather go to find exclusive and rare products. And that’s exactly what I found the last time I was there.

Cheddar and bacon popcorn!! I have never seen that before, despite the fact that I lived in New York City for almost three years and I found plenty of quirky products over there. We have had them on the shelf for quite a few months now, I guess we were a bit apprehensive, but when a friend of Sillas’ came over for a NFL night, we thought it was the perfect occasion to pop them in the microwave and try them – no pun intended…

We each took one kernels at first, tasted and looked at each other…and they were all right actually, the bacon taste was more apparent than the cheddar and I would have liked it to be the other way round. The guys like them a lot so the were gone in minutes and I popped another bag in the microwave.

Definitely something fun to have on you shelf for auctions like this, but I don’t know if I will be buying another packet in the near future….perhaps if I see another interesting combination, I will.
