Summer and lemonade go hand in hand – at least in my mind. There are a few different ways of making your own lemonade. Today I chose to blend all ingredients, including the lemon peels, and then sieve it before serving. This way, you get a slightly creamier lemonade and a lot of extra taste from the lemon peel. It’s a recipe that I found on bbcgoodfood.co.uk Here’s what you need and what to do:
3 unwaxed lemons, roughly chopped
150g caster sugar
1 l cold water
Cut the lemons into eighths and remove the piths and seeds.
Tip the lemons, sugar and half the water into a blender and blend until the lemon is finely chopped.
Pour the mixture into a sieve over a bowl, then press through as much juice as you can. Top up with the remaining water and serve with ice cubes.
