Homemade Salsa

Salsa homemade

Here’s a quick and easy recipe for a great salsa. We had Mexican food for dinner the other day – healthy burritos with chicken, lettuce, three bean salad, guacamole and salsa. Yum, I love Mexican food.

Ingredients:

Salsa ingredients

2 small onions, finely chopped

2 small cloves garlic, minced

3 large ripe tomatoes ( or 15 cherry tomatoes), peeled and seeds removed, chopped

1 chili pepper

2 tbsp parsley, chopped

2 tbsp basil, shopped

1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons lime juice

salt and pepper

Homemade salsa

 Preparation:

Pour chopped onion and garlic in a strainer; pour 2 cups of boiling water over them, then let drain thoroughly. Discard water. Cool.

Combine onions and garlic with chopped tomatoes, peppers, herbs, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours to blend flavors.

That’s it, so easy and so full of flavor.
