Homemade Iced Tea

There are a lot of different iced teas out there. Some are too sweet and very synthetic, others are close to the real thing and then some resembles nothing close to iced tea. The best iced tea I have tasted was at Hard Rock café. It was real tea with liquid sweetener on the side. It was delicious. I don’t now which type of tea they used though. Does anyone else know this? Last weekend I made my own iced tea. I used Pukka’s Refresh tea with peppermint, liquorice and fennel. But you use whichever tea you like. I don’t want my iced tea to be too sweet so I haven’t added any sugar. I think that the tea I...

Raspberry and limeade

  How beautiful is the colour of this raspberry-limeade? I wanted to try this recipe out when I saw that my local grocery store had fresh raspberries on sale at a very good price this entire month. The weather today has been quite weird really. It started out with beautiful sunny summer weather, so I decided to take a long walk around my neighborhood of Frederiksberg. Lots of people were out enjoying the weather, sitting outside cafés with a cup of coffee and a little pastry. It was an amazing walk; bought a bouquet of flowers, had a passion fruit smoothie, spotted a celebrity and stopped for a quick talk with a few neighbors I met at a sidewalk café....

New Years Eve Champagne Cocktails

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and I cannot wait. I love New Year’s Eve. An evening with great company, good food, lots of delicious drinks and an excitement of what the next year might bring. Oh and dressing up for New Years is always so much fun, finding the perfect dress and choosing which earrings, necklace or rings to go with it. And lets not forget the nail polish! This years where spending the evening here in Copenhagen with a group of friends from Sillas’ High School days and I just know that its going to be a great night. Whether you’re spending the night at home or are out with friends or family champagne cocktails are...

Homemade Lemonade

Summer and lemonade go hand in hand – at least in my mind. There are a few different ways of making your own lemonade. Today I chose to blend all ingredients, including the lemon peels, and then sieve it before serving. This way, you get a slightly creamier lemonade and a lot of extra taste from the lemon peel. It’s a recipe that I found on bbcgoodfood.co.uk Here’s what you need and what to do:

Homemade Chai Tea Concentrate

Whenever I go to a café I always choose one of two drinks – coffee latte or chai tea latte. I love the sweet and spiced flavor of a good cup of chai latte. A few years back I tried to make a pot of homemade chai, but it didn’t turn out great; too weak and not enough flavor. But now I found a great recipe for chai concentrate online, here and decided to give it a go again. And I’m so happy that I did. Because it turned out just right, full of chai spiced flavor. I made myself a glass of chai latte using the concentrate, and I am sitting here a very happy gal. Ingredients;

Homemade spiced hot chocolate

With this cold winter weather we’ve been having here in Denmark, I felt that I deserved a nice hot cup of chocolate the other day. This recipe is a bit different from the regular cup of cocoa.  I spiced it up with…well a few spices. Ingredients;

Strawberry, Banana, Blueberry Milkshake

I treated myself to a homemade milkshake this afternoon. Since we had a few bananas and some blueberry sauce left over form the other day, they went in the blender along with a handful of frozen strawberries. I love how simple and yet so so delicious a milkshake is…summer in a glass! Ingredients;

Jamie Oliver’s Strawberry Orchata

The Cinnamon orchata I made back in November was surprisingly good and delicious, so I was looking forward to trying the fruit version of the drink; Strawberry orchata. And tonight was the night to try it out. I wasn’t blown away unfortunately. It was still alright but just not amazing. Perhaps it was because I used frozen strawberries instead of fresh. The taste just wasn’t as fresh and fruity as I had hoped. Actually it was a bit bland.  In the summer I might try it again with fresh strawberries. On a side note, I realized that I have been spelling the drink with an ‘O’ and have noticed that it is also spelled with an ‘H’…so don’t really know...

Jamie Oliver’s date shake

My Jamie Oliver domestic project continues. This time with a lovely and sweet afternoon shake. Very simple, few ingredients and yet so so tasty. Dates are so wonderful, full of flavor and natural sweetness . I sometimes eat them as snacks, but this is the first time I’ve used them in a drink. And I love it, definitely not the last time I’ve made it. I think that it would work well served in a small glass for brunch. Ingredients;

Jamie Oliver’s Cinnamon Orchata

My second recipe for my Jamie Oliver domestic project is cinnamon orchata. I had never tried or heard of the drink before I saw it in the book. But it sounded delicious and exactly like something I would like. And I was right. It’s a bit like Christmas in a cup, a lot like the rice porridge, risengrød, we eat around Christmas time in Denmark. Lovely and very easy to make. I did a little research and can tell you that it’s a actually the name of several kinds of traditional beverages served in Spain, Latin America and the US, made of ground almonds, sesame seeds, rice, barley or tigernuts. In some countries the drink is usually tan and “milky”,...
